Member FAQ Q: Does my animal need any experience or specific training to register with Go Dog?
A: No experience or specific training is necessary; many assignments require only novice behaviors, like sit/stay. Producers and marketing companies can search based on the talent rating of your animal, so the more training you invest in your animal the more searches your animal may be included in. Q: I have added my animal, when will my listing appear as “active”?
A: Once a Go Dog Agent has reviewed your membership application and animal listing, your account will be activated. A Go Dog Agent will contact you during this process if necessary.
Q: I don’t have a Biography for my dog, what should I do?
A: The biography section is for you to add comments about your animal’s appearance and to also share some of your pet’s personality and abilities.1 Use the biography area to describe any unique markings or distinguishing features you may want to call to attention. You will receive a membership package which includes a detailed canine profile that you may choose to fill out, which may help you prepare a biography. Here are some questions from Go Dogs Canine Profile that may help you to create your animal’s biography:
- List major accomplishments or achievements with your animal.
- What behaviors does your animal enjoy or do well?
- Does your animal do anything unique or entertaining?
- What is the most remarkable thing about your animal?
- What is the funniest thing your animal has done?
- What is the proudest moment with your pet?
- How is your pet when interacting with people?
- What activities do you do with your animal?
Q: How do I receive a talent rating?
A: Your animal will be evaluated by a Go Dog Agent and will be awarded a talent rating based on Go Dogs Talent Guidelines and Criteria. Evaluations are performed either prior to a project you have accepted, or during a training session with a Go Dog Agent. If you see empty stars next to your animal, it indicates that the animal has not been evaluated. Talk to your Go Dog Agent to learn how to obtain or increase a talent rating on your animal. Q: How do producers contact me?
A: Producers search the database and can elect to “cast” an animal. This contacts your Go Dog Agent, who will contact you immediately to go over the project details. Should you accept the assignment, your Go Dog Agent will be involved with all phases, and will assist you with any requirements or tasks as needed. Q: How do I get paid for assignments?
A: Each assignment is unique, and pay will range based on the type of assignment and the budget on the project. When there are no animal talent budgets, some assignments may be offered for experience only. You will have the opportunity prior to any assignment to negotiate any details in the initial contract, and to accept or decline the project. All fees will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the assignment. Your performance percentage will be based on your talent rating and handler ability. Once your dog has been assessed for a talent rating, your Go Dog Agent will share with you where they are on the percentage matrix. Go Dog assesses manager fees based on the involvement necessary on the project and the talent level of the animal and handler. As you become more experienced on assignment, and your animal talent score increases, your percentage of the performance fee will increase as well. At the time of acceptance, you will be required to enter a performance contract, which will outline the details of the assignment. Once the work has been performed, and payment has been received and processed from the producer, you will receive a check for the prior agreed upon amount from Go Dog for your performance. Your Go Dog Agent will help you with any concerns you might have, at any time in your membership. Q: When will I get an assignment?
A: By listing your pet online, you are putting your animal in the best place to get noticed for film work and/or advertising opportunities. In addition to having your listing online, Go Dog is actively marketing for opportunities for your animal, so that you get the most for your membership! Assignment requirements vary greatly, and your Go Dog Agent can help you work on your animal’s portfolio by helping you improve your talent rating and your biography to get you to the next level. Even if you don’t get that casting call, your pet can still be a star on the prestigious Go Dog Productions Animal Talent calendar, which is available to the public! 1Biography information can be edited at any time by Go Dog Productions, LLC. Names and contact information will be omitted from your biography.
